Basement Replacement

This house was built in 1911, with lumber salvaged from a small-town hotel that once stood in it’s place. The interior has been remarkably well preserved with original plaster, flooring, and millwork throughout. The siding, windows, and roofing had been updated over the years, and the framing of the house was virtually untouched by rot and other damage. The original poured concrete foundation walls, however, were cracking apart and caving in. The current occupants of fifty years took the plunge, and we successfully replaced the basement in one warm season. We also took the opportunity to make the basement larger (the original did not capture the addition off the back) build a brand new two-car garage, a new front porch, and a new small rear deck.
